What is a Blog?

Note: This article has been deleted by Helium.com which I had an account with, and for whose rights this article belongs to is logically me.

The word "blog" has kept ringing almost everybody's ears since its popularity on the Internet. Since it's a new term and it never has been taught in any university for whichever course, a curious learner would need to engage himself in the information highway from which this term was created.

A blog is like a website, or it's easy to say, a type of a website. Just like a website is, a blog is a web page. It consists of important information and products that you want to know about. Since a website is a general knowledge to most people, a blog differs from a website in terms of presentation and content. The common knowledge for seasoned Internet users know that a blog is a personal diary of an individual. But a blog is more than a piece of a diary or a journal wherein the individual share his/her thoughts or his/her personal everyday life. Due to its popularity, a blog has become more than a journal, a blog has become the new media of today.

It has become a source of news about what has been going on in the world that can't be found in daily newspapers and TV news. If the media are reporting some intriguing news about the famous people, blogs are good sources of news outside the whole spectrum of traditional media reporting. What you can find in blogs are goings-on and information about the blogger themselves and about the people whom media can't have access to because of their irrelevance and coverage limitations.

More than this, a blog is now a lucrative venue for business entrepreneurs, big and small. Once a blog maximizes its potential and increase its visibility, this becomes a suitable place for marketing and advertising. And this what makes a blog successful. Bloggers not only share their interesting views and thoughts but they earn regular income as well.

Unlike a website in which a user would only need to gain access and utilizes it in the most possible way like engaging in forums, social networking, and purchase, a blog is more like a fascinating source of literature. When a blog gains its huge number of readership, the regular readers would keep on coming back for more. In other words, they follow what a particular blog will be saying on the next post. This is the reason why bloggers need to update their blogs more frequently.

And again, unlike websites, blogs are favorite venues for readers and search engines because of their updated content. Blogs that update content more consistently will find their rich and new content on search engines; thus, readers who search for topic or keywords that you have on your new post can easily find your updated content because Google and search engines place updated content more visible in search results list than those that are not.

Blogs have become more and more popular and will never die because of the need for written words to be read. There are millions of readers around the world who are following blogs that interest them; and due to this, more money are keep coming in not just for bloggers but for advertisers and businesses as well.
